Andhra Pradesh government is set to launch 62 new Anna Canteens in rural areas, taking the total number to 269 across the State. Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu will formally inaugurate the second phase of Anna Canteens on April 15, 2026, at Dharanikota in the Pedakurapadu constituency of Palnadu district.
The government currently operates 207 Anna Canteens, serving around 2.10 lakh meals daily at a subsidised rate of ₹5 per meal. Out of the existing canteens, 204 are located in urban areas under municipal corporations and municipalities, while three are functioning in rural regions. With the addition of 62 new rural canteens, the government is taking affordable and hygienic food services to villages, according to a press release here on Monday (April 13).
