A.P. fast emerging as an export and manufacturing hub: Minister Srinivas

Minister for MSME Kondapalli Srinivas said Andhra Pradesh was fast emerging as a hub for manufacturing, MSME, and exports with its strong infrastructure, sectoral parks, and innovation centres, contributing nearly 8% of India’s total exports.

He was delivering the keynote address at the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)’s International Mechanical Engineering Congress & Exposition (IMECE) – 2025 held in Hyderabad. 

On the occasion, Mr. Srinivas said the State was creating unprecedented opportunities for industries and startups alike by introducing forward-looking policies, developing investment-ready industrial nodes and by focusing on sustainability. 

He observed that the IMECE India complemented A.P.’s vision by facilitating global collaborations, advancing engineering research, and strengthening academia–industry partnerships to transform India into an innovation-driven economy. 

A press release said the IMECE highlighted India’s leadership in engineering and innovation with thought-provoking keynotes and policy dialogues. AP MSME Development Corporation Chairman T. Sivasankara Raoand co-founder of Skyroot AerospacePawan Kumar Chandana underscored India’s key role in shaping the global engineering and innovation landscape. 

ASME India president and director Madhukar Sharma and a host of other domain experts spoke on diverse topics like additive manufacturing and 3D printing, advanced materials and manufacturing technologies, advances in thermal technologies, gas turbines, offshore pipelines transmission and distribution systems, cyber physical systems plus AI/ML and structural dynamics and materials.
