Woman dies in lightning strike at Pullaloor in Kozhikode

A woman died in lightning strike at Pullaloor near Narikkuni in Kozhikode district on Saturday evening.

According to sources, the deceased is Suneera, 40, wife of Cherachorameethal Riyas of Parappara. Suneera was reportedly hit by lightning while she was sitting in the corridor of the house around 5 p.m. The area had witnessed heavy rain followed by thunderstorms during the day.

Meanwhile, heavy rain was reported from some other parts of the district such as Puthuppady and Adivaram also. One house was partially damaged in Thamarassery. A tragedy was averted as the residents were not at home at the time of the incident.
