Nearly 33.5 acres of Traco Cables, a State public sector unit under the Department of Industries, at Irumpanam will be handed over to Infopark as part of developing its fourth phase.

The decision to hand over the land was taken on a request from Infopark, Industries Minister P. Rajeeve said in a release. The fourth phase would be implemented on the land near Seaport-Airport Road, he added.

A high-level committee was formed to work out the terms and conditions for handing over the land. A meeting convened by the Chief Minister had earlier decided to hand over the land to Infopark at a cost of ₹200 crore, it said.

Mr. Rajeeve said the money earned through the handing over of the land would be utilised for the future development of Traco Cables. The liabilities due to the workers could also be resolved through it, he said.
