Activists of YSR Congress party staged a dharna in front of Excise police station on Monday (October 13), demanding an inquiry by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the alleged spurious liquor racket.

In response to the call given by YSRCP to organise State-wide protests, the party activists led by former minister Vellampalli Srinivas and former MLA Malladi Vishnu and other leaders organised a protest demanding a thorough probe into the manufacturing of spurious liquor.

Alleging that government was trying to protect the accused in the case, the protestors raised slogans demanding to book all the culprits involved in Mulakalacheruvu and Ibrahimpatnam incidents. They submitted a representation to the Prohibition and Excise officials in this regard.

“As part of Super Six, the TDP government is supplying spurious liquor in the State and is spoiling the health of the public,” the former minister alleged.
