Vizianagaram Zilla Parishad Chairperson and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) district president Majji Srinivasa Rao on Sunday announced that the party would stage protests on Monday(October 13) across all Assembly constituencies in the district, opposing the proposed privatisation of government medical colleges in the State.

Addressing a media conference, he said the move to privatise medical colleges would deprive poor patients of free healthcare services, as each college is attached to a super-speciality hospital. He added that the party would strongly resist the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, describing it as an attempt to hand over government institutions to corporate hospitals.

Mr. Srinivasa Rao appealed to leaders and activists of all political parties to participate in the agitation and the ongoing signature campaign against the proposal.
