The Elite Anti-Narcotics Group for Law Enforcement (EAGLE), in collaboration with the Government Railway Police (GRP) and the Railway Protection Force (RPF), seized 19 kg of ganja being smuggled on the Puri–Tirupati Express on Friday.

The operation was carried out in the general coach as the train approached Vijayawada station from Gudivada. Officers discovered the contraband and arrested four smugglers—Sk. Wajid, Chennamalai Siva Venchi, Rajith Kumar, and Ritesh Naik—who are natives of Chatrapur, Odisha, the EAGLE police said. “We are investigating the origin and destination of this ganja racket,” said Vijayawada GRP officials, who have registered a case.
