Bengaluru Traffic Police (BTP) has written to cab and delivery aggregators, inviting them to collaborate in tackling congestion caused by unauthorised parking across the city.

The department has proposed integration with a real-time No Parking Compliance Application Programming Interface (API), which will enable operators and drivers to receive instant alerts, ensuring adherence to traffic rules, especially no parking, and helping improve traffic flow.

API refers to the process of connecting two or more software applications or systems, enabling seamless data exchange.

Officials said the move is part of a larger citywide effort to ease congestion in busy corridors, where illegal parking has been a persistent challenge. By equipping aggregators with live information, authorities hope to bring about greater discipline among commercial drivers. They have also suggested tracking repeated offenders for internal action.

Traffic police have urged all major mobility and logistics platforms to adopt the system.
