The police have arrested the main accused in a case of attempted murder in Seethangoli, where a young man was stabbed in the neck following a financial dispute.

The arrested has been identified as Akshay 34, a native of Badiyadaka, and an accused in several cases registered under the Badiyadaka police station limits. He was taken into custody by a team led by Kumbala Police Inspector P.K. Jijesh and Sub-Inspector K. Sreejesh.

The incident occurred around 11.30 p.m. on Sunday (October 5), when a gang allegedly led by Akshay attacked Anil Kumar, 30, a fish trader from Badiyadaka, during a dispute over money in Seethangoli town.

The police said the gang attempted to stab Anil Kumar in the neck, but instead caused a serious injury to his thigh. He was rushed to a hospital in Mangaluru, where doctors performed a complex surgery.

The police have launched an intense search for the remaining 12 accused. Two vehicles have been seized in connection with the case.

Authorities are currently questioning three others believed to be involved in the incident.
