The AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami, on Monday (October 6, 2025) deplored reports of the Tamil Nadu government-owned distribution network, the Arasu Cable TV Corporation, having blocked the telecast of Puthiya Thalaimurai, a Tamil television news channel, on its network.

In a post on his social media handle, Mr. Palaniswami also referred to the reports in sections of the media that the telecast had been restored in some districts after having been suspended fully. Pointing out the media had a role to play in pinpointing lapses of the State government, he said instead of correcting itself based on the media’s inputs, the State government was trying to wreak revenge on the channel, an act which was “condemnable.”

He urged the DMK government to ensure the resumption of the hassle-free telecast by the channel on the network of the Arasu Cable TV Corporation.
