CM Stalin inaugurates hospital buildings, hands over enhanced pension to retired priests

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, on Monday, virtually inaugurated new buildings for hospitals in various locations across the State at a total cost of ₹173 crore. He also unveiled the foundation for the new buildings for hospitals to be constructed in different locations at a total cost of ₹20 crore.

The CM also virtually inaugurated 20 hostels, 37 school buildings and housing units under the Tholkudi programme, 16 village knowledge centres and nine multi-purpose centres constructed by the Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department at a total cost of ₹209 crore. He also flagged off new vehicles for the department.

In another event, the CM launched the distribution of enhanced pension for retired priests in temples under the control of the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department. While pension has been revised to ₹5,000, the family pension has been revised to ₹2,500.

Mr. Stalin released a book ‘Sabhyata Ki Yatra: Sindu Se Vaigai’, the Hindi translation of the Tamil book ‘Oru Panpattin Payanam: Cintu Mutal Vaikai Varai’ authored by retired IAS officer and trustee of Roja Muthiah Research Library R. Balakrishnan. Chief Secretary N. Muruganandam received the first copy of the book.

Ministers E.V. Velu, P.K. Sekarbabu and M. Mathiventhan; Chief Secretary N. Muruganandam and senior officials were also present during the events.
