Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy invited Kargil war veteran and retired Indian Air Force Wing Commander Valluru Shyam Prasad to inaugurate the newly-constructed Podalakur road in Nellore on Monday.

The 5 km-stretch of CC road from Batwadipalem to Dycus Road, along with divider, central lighting, drain and greenery development work in Nellore Rural constituency was built at a cost of ₹11 crore.

After inaugurating the road, Mr. Shyam Prasad said, “The idea of inviting soldiers to such inauguration programmes is a good development. Calling me from a remote village for this programme is a great honour. This is just an example of the vision of Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy.”

Earlier, the MLA had invited few differently-abled persons to inaugurate AC bus shelters in the city. With the latest initiative, he showed his respect towards the Indian soldiers. “It is a pleasure to honour the soldiers who are sacrificing their lives for the country,” he said.

“Although the State economy suffered during the previous regime, Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu is launching various development and welfare programmes, as well as building the capital city of Amaravati and Polavaram project,” the MLA added.

Former Mayor Nandimandalam Bhanusri, TDP leader Kotamreddy Giridhar Reddy, BJP district president Shipareddy Vamsidhar Reddy, Nellore Rural JSP coordinator Pavujenny Chandrasekhar Reddy, along with leaders and activists of TDP, JSP and BJP were present.
