OP services at gastroenterology dept. at Ernakulam General Hospital in Keralam to begin this week

Neurology and gastroenterology services have become fully operational at General Hospital (GH), Ernakulam. The outpatient facility of the gastroenterology department will open this week, said hospital superintendent Dr. Prebhudas R.

Along with the full-scale launch of services in the neurology and gastroenterology departments, super-specialty departments for oral and maxillofacial surgery and plastic surgery have also been established at the hospital.

Efforts are on to launch specialised treatment services including retina surgery, interventional radiology, and endocrinology, according to a statement. With the addition of more super-specialty departments at the hospital, those who cannot afford high treatment costs at private hospitals will be able to access expert medical care at GH.

The services are being expanded as part of measures to upgrade the hospital into a superior referral treatment centre, according to a release.
