Perfect storm of Monsoon Session comes to an end

The cliche of the Monsoon Session getting “washed out” makes its appearance in the headlines at least once each year, during the sitting of Parliament in the rainy season. This time around, the government and the BJP had planned a full legislative agenda in the expectation of a sunny political forecast, but the stormy GenZ protests rained on their parade.

At the beginning of the session, there was talk that the government would seek to clear the amendments to the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA), and attempt, once again, the passage of the Delimitation Bill, having come a cropper in this effort in April.
