Students from different schools in Mandya demonstrated their scientific temper and mathematical talent at The Hindu In School Science Fest (Avishkar) and Maths Olympiad 2026 (Ramanujam Spark Quest) held on Wednesday.
While a total of 18 teams comprising two students each from classes 8 to 10 participated in the Science Fest 2026 and displayed their projects and innovations in science, another 135 students, also from classes 8 to 10, participated enthusiastically in the Maths Olympiad.
The programme was inaugurated by Mandya Circle Inspector Naveen Supekar at Gowri Shankara Kalyana Mantapa in Marigowda Layout in Mandya.
Chief Executive Officer of Mandya Zilla Panchayat Nandini K.R. was the chief guest for the valedictory programme. Principal of PES College of Engineering Vinay S. was also present.
Science fest winners
While Chirag Jain and Havish M. from Santhome Public School bagged the first prize, Taniya V. Gowda and Nikitha S.B. also from Santhome Public School bagged the second prize.
The third prize was bagged by Mahesh M.S. and Nakul V. from Rotary High School.
Consolation prizes went to Sharadi C.V. and Shresta Anand from Cauvery Public School, Sampada C.M. and D. Brunda Shree of Rotary High School, Shahid Khan and Hemanth G.J. from JSS Public School, Preksha S. and Mishimith H. from Cauvery Public School and Nehamachona M.S. and Simisha Y. Gowda from Cauvery Public School.
The Judges for Avishkar Interschool Science Fest were Dr. Ashraya, Ms. Ashwini and Dr. Shivaraj Nayak.
Ramanujam Spark quest
Samarth Santosh of STG Public School won the first prize in Class 8 followed by Jathin J. Gowda from Cauvery Public School and Harshal Dias from Santhome Public School.
The consolation prize for Class 8 participants went to Eshitha M.N. of Santhome Public School, Dishanth Arya B.S. also of Santhome Public School and Kushal S. of Cauvery Public School.
In Class 9, Lekanashree of JSS Public School won the first prize while Nehal of Santhome Public School and Janak Raval from Cauvery Public School won the second and third prizes respectively.
The consolation prizes in Class 9 went to Adithi H.S. of St. Mary’s Convent school, Akash N. from STG Public School, Nesara Rashmi H.R. from Cauvery Public School.
In Class 10, the first prize went to Shah Faiz Nizami from Cauvery Public School, while the second and third prizes were bagged by Parth from Cauvery Public School and Sejal from JSS Public School.
The consolation prizes in Class 10 went to Kushala H.B. from Global Public School, Jithan B. from Cauvery Public School, Uma Thanur from JSS Public School.
The judges for Ramanujam Spark Quest were Vice Principal of Excellent College, Moodubidre, Sunaad Raj, PRO of the College Swaroop Jain, Information Officer of the college Sharad Vijay and Exam Officer Pradeep.’
