AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Sunday chaired a meeting of the party’s district unit secretaries at its head office in Chennai. Besides Mr. Palaniswami, senior leaders Tamil Magan Hussain, K.P. Munusamy, and Dindigul C. Sreenivasan took part in the meeting.
Former Minister D. Jayakumar, R.B. Udhayakumar, Agri S.S. Krishnamurthy, K.C. Karuppannan, K.T. Rajenthra Bhalaji, and O.S. Manian were among those who participated.
When asked if he expected anything in Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay’s speech in the Assembly scheduled for Monday, AIADMK functionary and former Minister Sellur K. Raju said the Chief Minister would be speaking after having undertaken a rehearsal. “He [Mr. Vijay] will come after doing a rehearsal. He will come as if he is coming for a [film] shooting. He will memorise and deliver punchlines, but the people are worried about the rising prices of essential commodities, be it onions, oil, or rice,” he added.
