A 32-year-old farmer was found dead at his rented house in Hebballi village of Dharwad taluk.
The deceased was identified as Mallikarjun Kallappa Shiraguppi. The incident occurred on Wednesday.
According to sources, the deceased farmer owned land at Shirakol village in Navalgund taluk of Dharwad district where he was doing farming.
He reportedly availed himself of loans from a regional rural bank and private money lenders.
The Dharwad Rural Police have registered a case.
