Hyderabad

Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy directed Tahsildars and sub-registrars to bring about a visible change in their functioning and put an end to the practice of making people run from pillar to post for resolution of their problems.

Reviewing the functioning of the Revenue, Registration, Survey and Housing departments of the erstwhile Nalgonda district, he said that every application relating to land issues should be examined with a positive approach and disposed of at the earliest. Officials should pay special attention to pending applications and would face stringent action for negligence, he warned.

The Minister said effective implementation of the Bhu Bharati Act was the responsibility of the Revenue officials.

Re-survey by October-end

He directed officials to accord top priority to the first phase of the State-wide re-survey and complete it by the end of October. Preparations for the second phase, proposed to be taken up in December, should begin immediately.

He directed officials to ensure a transparent re-survey in 70 villages covered in the first phase and firmly establish village boundaries.
