Chittoor Superintendent of Police Tushar Dudi has conducted inspections in the upcoming industrial area and police station in Kuppam constituency ahead of the local body polls.
Mr. Dudi on Wednesday a drone-assisted assessment and reviewed security requirements, surveillance, movement control and policing at key locations across the area. He directed officers to coordinate with the agencies concerned and put preventive measures in place to ensure a safe environment for proposed industrial projects.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Chittoor SP reviewed case investigations, pending cases, station records and overall functioning of the staff in Kuppam subdivision area. With local body elections approaching, the SP directed police to identify vulnerable areas and persons and maintain continuous surveillance to prevent untoward incidents. “Police in the subdivision should strengthen security arrangements and keep a close watch on illegal liquor, movement of cash and other violations of election rules,” the SP said.
He highlighted sustained public awareness campaigns on cybercrime, particularly online fraud, OTP-related scams, banking fraud, fake links and digital arrest scams. Similar programmes should be conducted in schools, colleges, villages, markets, he said.
The police officers were asked to promote helmet and seat-belt use, discourage drunk driving and overspeeding, and identify accident-prone stretches. The SP also called for prompt action on public complaints and courteous treatment of visitors at police stations.
