Luxembourg-based Innovation Platform Capital (iPC), which has interests in digital infrastructure, renewable energy and green hydrogen, has proposed an investment of ₹83,480 crore in Karnataka in three phases, Large and Medium Industries Minister M.B. Patil said here on Monday.
A high-level delegation from the company, led by Gursharan Singh Kundan, Managing Partner and Chairman, iPC Global, met the Minister who later said that iPC has proposed an integrated Bengaluru-Tumakuru green hydrogen and hyperscale data centre platform, with a total IT load of 2,250 MW (a network of computing equipment including servers, storage systems, and network routers that require 2,250,000,000 watts of electrical power) and green hydrogen capacity of 1,000 MW across three phases. The current proposal covers the first phase, involving a gross investment of ₹17,114 crore, he added.
The first phase would comprise 400 MW of data-centre capacity, spread across two campuses of 200 MW each, along with a 500 MW green hydrogen and power complex.
According to Mr. Patil, the company has sought 1,000 acres of land for the project, with about 400 acres each proposed for the data centres and the green power complex. The remaining 200 acres would be earmarked for safety and environmental buffers, including the proposed separation zone for the hydrogen facility.
The project is expected to require around 13 million litres per day (MLD) of water, primarily sourced from treated industrial or CETP effluent. The company proposes to recycle 80–85% of the water, with limited borewell water serving as backup if required, he further said.
