The Telangana Tourism Development Corporation (TGTDC) is undertaking a series of measures to improve the quality of accommodation, food, hygiene and services at their Haritha hotels across the State, with the aim of bringing them closer to the standards followed by leading hospitality establishments.
TGTDC Managing Director P. Gouthami, conductied surprise inspections of Haritha hotels across Telangana to assess accommodation facilities, restaurants, kitchens, food quality, hygiene, staff performance, maintenance and overall service standards.
During the inspections, officials were instructed to ensure that there is no compromise on food quality or kitchen hygiene. TGTDC has also said that action will be taken against personnel found negligent in maintaining prescribed standards. As part of the exercise, departmental action was initiated on Sunday (August 23, 2026) against Sambashiva Rao, Unit Manager of Haritha Hotel in Vikarabad.
The Corporation is also seeking to adopt practices followed by star hotels to improve guest comfort and the overall experience at Haritha hotels. A CCTV-based live monitoring system is being installed in the kitchens of all units to enable continuous monitoring of food preparation, kitchen hygiene and staff activities.
It would constitute dedicated vigilance teams to monitor quality, hygiene and service standards at their properties. The teams will conduct regular inspections and review food quality, kitchen hygiene, room maintenance and other services, with corrective action to be initiated wherever deficiencies are found.
TGTDC is also implementing an automated booking system for Haritha hotels. The system will allow tourists to check room availability online and make bookings.
“With Telangana’s tourism sector growing, the service standards at Haritha hotels also need to evolve. TGTDC is taking measures to bring the properties in line with the highest hospitality standards. The department’s focus is on food quality, hygiene, service standards, continuous monitoring and the use of technology to make Haritha hotels more modern, reliable and tourist friendly,” said Ms. Gouthami.
