Mirzapur: The Movie actor Harshita Gaur spoke about Jitendra Kumar joining the cast and taking on the role that was initially associated with Vikrant Massey. In an exclusive conversation with India TV, she admitted that she wished Vikrant could have been part of the film, but added that Jitendra eventually proved to be a strong addition to the team.

The actress also shed light on her interaction with another cast member, Ravi Kishan, and revealed their topic of conversation on the sets of Mirzapur: The Movie.

When asked whether she missed Vikrant during the shoot of the film, Harshita said, “When you think of Vikrant, initially I wish he could have been a part of it, but then, you know, we were told that this was due to whatever, Jeetu was going to do it, and I didn’t know him well till that time. And when we started shooting, I think it was a great experience because Jeetu is a good actor.”

Harshita acknowledged that Vikrant’s absence could be felt by his longtime fans, but expressed confidence in Jitendra’s performance. “I’m sure people who are very diehard Vikrant fans are going to miss him, but I also feel that they’re not going to come out of theatres thinking that Jeetu didn’t deliver. So that is not something that’s going to happen because he’s really put his heart in the film. And he’s done very well,” she said.

Harshita also spoke about how Jitendra became part of a team that has worked together across the Mirzapur franchise for several years. She said he blended into the group naturally and never felt like an outsider.

“I think he sort of blended in so seamlessly with all of us. What he must be going through, you obviously have to ask him because he probably was, probably had, must have had these thoughts in his head that, you know, did this universe have these other people who worked together with each other for about 8-9 years and he’s gonna enter into? So his dynamics and whatever was going in his head, he probably knows better,” she said.

Speaking from her own experience, Harshita added, “But as somebody who received that, I would say that he very seamlessly blended into our universe. It never felt like that he was an outsider. It never felt like he was never part of it all. It was just like, it just felt like he was always a part of the team.”

Harshita also recalled her time around Ravi Kishan during the shoot. Although the two do not share scenes in the film, she said she enjoyed listening to his stories and experiences from his long career. “Ravi Kishan and I don’t have any scenes together, but I saw him shooting, and I can just say that we had a great time. I remember I was there and, you know, in the morning it was Rajasthan and we were sitting with our coffees, and he would tell us about his experiences, his life experiences,” she said.

Harshita added that Ravi’s journey in the industry, including the highs and lows he has experienced over the years, gave him valuable insights to share with the team. “He’s been in the industry for such a long time, has done so much work, gone through highs and lows, all of that, and I think he shared some very valuable insights with us,” Harshita told India TV.
