Chief Justice of Telangana High Court Aparesh Kumar on Saturday exhorted the legal fraternity to remember the suggestion of Mahatma Gandhi to think about the last person in the queue before taking a decision.

Addressing the gathering of judges, advocates, staff and others after hoisting the national flag on the HC premises on Independence Day, the CJ said that nearly 14.13 crore pages of the High Court records and 8.89 crore pages of district judicial records had been scanned and digitised so far. The precious year, 90,357 cases were instituted while 80,020 cases were disposed of in the HC, he said.

This had translated into 88.5% of disposal rate. The construction of zone-II in the proposed new HC complex at Rajendranagar was in progress. Nearly, 25% of the works were completed. The works relating to Cultural Centre being built at the HC guest house at Ashok Vihar has reached the final stage. The State government had allocated ₹751.45 crore for building court buildings, residences for judicial officers and staff for the financial year 2026-27, the CJ said.
