Sixteen faculty members of the Central University of Rajasthan (CUoR) have been listed among the world’s top 2% scientists in 2025 in a publication of the Stanford University, the United States. The list is compiled annually based on statistics from the Scopus database. Journals in Scopus are reviewed for quality each year in accordance with four numerical measures.
The CUoR, with its campus built at Bandar Sindri, near Kishangarh in Ajmer district, was established in 2009. The university also broke recently into the top 100 universities in the country in the 2025 ranking of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) by securing the 89th position.
CUoR Vice-Chancellor Anand Bhalerao said here on Tuesday (September 30, 2025) that the global honour would inspire the university’s research community to achieve greater heights and establish the institution on the world research map. “This is a recognition of the consistent efforts and innovations at our university,” Prof. Bhalerao said.
Last year, 12 scientists from the CUoR were featured in the list, while this year the number has increased to 16. Stanford University’s ‘World’s Top 2% Scientists’ list ranks scientists globally according to a composite citation score which takes into account total citations, h-index (a quantitative metric on the impact of a scientist’s work), and self-citations.
Researchers are classified into 22 broad scientific fields and 174 sub-fields, and only those in the top 2 percentile of their respective sub-fields are included in the list.
The CUoR faculty members finding mention in the Stanford University list are Pradeep Verma, Pritpal Singh, Sanjib Kumar Panda, Vineet Kumar, K.K. Mohbey, Vishvanath Tiwari, Rajesh Kumar, Amit K. Goyal, Umesh Gupta, Surendra Nimesh, Gaurav Meena, Basant Agarwal, Kaisar Raza, Nidhi Pareek, Chandi Charan Mandal, and Rajendra C. Pawar.
