With several organisations calling for a Karnataka bandh on Thursday, the Mysuru City Police have warned of stringent legal action against anyone indulging in unlawful activities in the name of protests.

The police said no permission has been granted for any form of protest in the city on Thursday.

The police have directed bandh supporters not to force shops, commercial establishments, schools, colleges or offices to shut down, block roads or obstruct the movement of the public.

They have also warned against burning tyres or effigies and indulging in any criminal activities that could disturb law and order or cause damage to public or government property, a note from the office of Commissioner of police, Mysuru said.

Strict legal action will be taken against those violating the law or damaging public or government property, the police said.
