Chennai City Police Cyber Crime Wing arrested YouTuber Felix Gerald for allegedly posting a video attributing moves to stampede at TVK leader Vijay’s political rally in Karur

The Greater Chennai City Police Cyber Crime wing on Tuesday (September 30, 2025) arrested YouTuber Felix Gerald for allegedly posting a video attributing motives to Saturday’s (September 27, 2025) stampede at actor and TVK leader Vijay’s political rally in Karur.

On Monday (September 29, 2025), the police had arrested a BJP and two Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) functionaries for allegedly spreading rumours on social media about the stampede. The police said cases were registered against 25 social media account holders who posted rumours about the stampede and spread misinformation about the State government and police.

Mr. Felix was picked up from his residence in Nungambakkam in the early hours. Police sources said in a recent video posted in his channel RedPix he had allegedly spread misinformation and blamed the state government for the stampede that claimed 41 lives.
