The Magadi Road police have registered a case against 17 persons for allegedly engaging in a violent public brawl that disrupted traffic and created panic among the public on Dr. Rajkumar Road in Rajajinagar on Thursday.

According to the FIR, the incident occurred on July 23 between 9.40 p.m. and 10.30 p.m. on Dr. Rajkumar Road. While on night patrol, the police personnel noticed around 18 to 20 persons, shouting, abusing and attempting to assault each other on the public road.

Officers immediately intervened, dispersed the crowd and brought the situation under control.

During the inquiry, the police found that the clash had erupted over a trivial dispute between Siddaraju, owner of a mobiles shop and Deepak, owner of another mobile shop, with their associates joining the confrontation.

Based on a complaint filed by assistant sub-inspector Kumar K.R., the Magadi Road police registered a case.
