The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) MLC Monditoka Arun Kumar accused the NDA coalition government of misleading the public with false claims and of failing to address people’s problems during the recently concluded eight-day sessions of the Assembly and Legislative Council.

Speaking to reporters at the YSRCP central office in Tadepalli on Sunday, Dr. Arun Kumar said the Opposition had acted as the true voice of the people by exposing the government’s inefficiency and contradictions in the House. He alleged that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was resorting to “blatant lies” to cover up governance failures.

Highlighting the plight of farmers, he said shortages of urea, lack of remunerative prices and mounting debts were pushing cultivators into distress, even as the government claimed farmers were “happy.” He also opposed the move to privatise government medical colleges, describing it as an attempt to hand over public assets to private entities, and recalled that the previous YSRCP regime had set up 17 new medical colleges.

The MLC further charged the government with insincerity on the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant issue, contradictory claims about debt, and lowering the dignity of the legislature through abusive language by ruling party members. “Despite provocations, the YSRCP stood firmly as the people’s voice,” he asserted.
