Telangana Congress working president T. Jagga Reddy questioned the ‘objectionable’ language used by the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao against the Gandhi family, and said it was not Telangana culture to wish bad for people who helped formation of Telangana.
Speaking to reporters on Sunday (July 19), he referred to the role of former Congress president Sonia Gandhi in the formation of Telangana and asked KTR how he could wish harm upon Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, the children of the leader who had facilitated the creation of the State. “Is this the culture of Telangana?” he asked.
He was responding to the comments by KTR against Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi at ‘Yuva Sangramam’ on Saturday. If KTR was serious on debate, he was ready for a debate with him on the jobs given by the Congress.
Mr. Jagga Reddy contrasted the Congress leadership with the BRS, alleging that while the family of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi always honoured its commitments, the family of former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had failed to keep its promises.
Highlighting the Congress government’s employment initiatives, he said the Revanth Reddy government, under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, had issued appointment orders to 562 Group-I candidates and filled about 70,000 vacancies across various government departments. He challenged the BRS leader to discuss with Mr Revanth Reddy in the Assembly on the government’s employment record.
