The Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) has urged cybercrime victims who have received an SMS or notification from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) regarding an earmarked refund to submit their claims only through the Money Restoration Module (MRM) on the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal.

The Bureau said the MRM has been introduced to enable the seamless restoration of money lost in cyber frauds after due verification by law enforcement agencies and banks. Victims must log in to the portal using the mobile number linked to their cybercrime complaint, complete OTP verification, select the eligible complaint and earmarked bank account, upload PAN details wherever applicable, review the refund details and submit the request.

The TGCSB advised victims to follow only the official refund process communicated by the Ministry of Home Affairs and warned against sharing OTPs, passwords, banking credentials or personal information with anyone claiming to expedite the refund process.

The Bureau clarified that no fee is charged for submitting a refund request through the Money Restoration Module.

Citizens requiring assistance or clarification regarding the refund process can contact the TGCSB help desk on 8712665600 between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., approach their jurisdictional police station or get in touch with the investigating officer handling their cybercrime complaint.
