Karnataka SIR: Enumeration form distribution crosses 77% in Karnataka

The distribution of enumeration forms for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Karnataka crossed 77% as of 6 p.m. on Tuesday (July 7). However, digitisation of the collected forms remained at 7.72%.

According to data released by the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Karnataka, 4,27,82,130 of the State’s 5,54,32,314 electors had been issued enumeration forms since the house-to-house exercise began on June 30.

As many as 17,539 polling stations, accounting for 29.7% of the State’s 59,050 polling stations, have completed 100% distribution of enumeration forms. Another 13,249 polling stations (22.44%) have achieved over 90% distribution.

Digitisation

In terms of digitisation, only two polling stations have completed 100% digitisation, while 49 polling stations have crossed the 90% mark. The Commission said 1,46,143 electors (0.26%) had submitted their enumeration forms online.

The revision exercise has also identified 1,00,843 electors under the category of ASDDO (Absent, Shifted, Dead, Duplicate or Otherwise). The break-up includes 42,120 deceased electors, 49,658 permanently shifted electors, 7,063 persons already enrolled elsewhere, 1,574 untraceable or absent electors and 428 falling under other categories.

Highest in Belagavi

Among districts, Belagavi recorded the highest number of enumeration forms distributed at 30.9 lakh, followed by Mysuru (22.27 lakh), Kalaburagi (19.07 lakh), Tumakuru (19.39 lakh) and Bengaluru Urban (16.9 lakh).

The three GBA divisions continued to report lower coverage compared to several districts. While the North division recorded distribution of 10.16 lakh forms out of 23.32 lakh electors, Central 8.42 lakh out of 18.89 lakh electors and South 8.74 lakh out of 21.44 lakh electors.

Raichur has digitised the highest number of forms so far at 3.71 lakh, followed by Belagavi (2.92 lakh), Chitradurga (2.76 lakh), Haveri (2.68 lakh), Hassan (2.47 lakh) and Vijayapura (2.24 lakh).
