Four persons, including three women, were killed after the Charlapalli-Shalimar Express train hit them near Chebrole railway station at Unguturu mandal in Eluru district.

The Tadepalligudem Government Railway Police (GRP) are trying to determine whether the victims ended their lives or died in an accident on Saturday night. According to the police, the bodies were mangled beyond recognition.

Police seized damaged mobile phones, a bank ATM card and other material from the spot. The bodies were shifted to Tadepalligudem Area Government Hospital mortuary for postmortem, said GRP Sub Inspector (SI) Appa Rao. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, police said.
