BMTC electric bus hits stationary Vayu Vajra bus in Bengaluru, several injured

BMTC buses collide in Bengaluru

Several passengers were injured when two BMTC buses collided at K.R. Circle in Bengaluru on July 4, 2026.

According to preliminary information, a BMTC electric bus rammed into the rear of a stationary Vayu Vajra bus at a traffic signal. The impact was so severe that the driver of the electric bus sustained serious injuries. He was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Several passengers seated in the front row of the electric bus also suffered injuries.

The legs of some passengers were trapped inside the damaged bus. They were rescued by police and Fire & Emergency Services personnel. A towing vehicle was deployed to remove the damaged bus from the spot.

The accident led to heavy traffic congestion around K.R. Circle, as emergency responders were assisting the injured. Police cleared the road for movement of vehicles.

Police have begun an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
