Deputy High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Southern India Ganesanathan Geathiswaran with Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay.

The Deputy High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Southern India, Ganesanathan Geathiswaran, on Wednesday called on Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay at the Secretariat and held discussions with him.

Later, Axis Bank Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Amitabh Chaudhry, along with senior bank officials, also called on the Chief Minister.

Mohamed Rela, Chairman and Managing Director of Rela Hospital; G. Ramesh Krishnan, Executive Director; Mohamed Farook, Chief Operating Officer; and other senior officials of the hospital also met the Chief Minister.

An official release said P. Gopal Krishnan, president; S. Sukumar, secretary; and K.G. Prithvi, vice-president of the Karur Textile Manufacturers and Exporters’ Association also met Mr. Vijay.

Tamimun Ansari meets Nirmalkumar

Manithaneya Jananayaga Katchi leader and Chidambaram MLA Thamimun Ansari met Minister for Law R. Nirmalkumar and urged the Tamil Nadu government to file an appeal against the order of the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court holding that a convert to Islam cannot claim the status of a Backward Class Muslim.
