The general public interested in nature and farming have an opportunity to take part in the guided walk in the sprawling 1,320-acre GKVK campus of the University of Agricultural Sciences-Bengaluru on Saturday as the UAS-B has again taken up the “Walk with Agriculture Environment@ GKVK” programme.

Interested persons can take part in the 5-km walk that would be taken up from 6 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. on September 27 through online registration by paying ₹200 that includes the cost of breakfast. Details may be had over Phone: 6360466004 or 9482230588. The university would take the first 100 entries for the guided walk.

The visitors will have an opportunity to visit the botanical garden, bee park, bakery unit, animal husbandry units, Integrated farming System units, vermicomposting and hydroponics units among others. They would also get an opportunity to take the bullock cart ride.

Apart from these units, the visitors would also get an opportunity to buy organic produce directly from farmers as the university would also be organising the monthly “raitha santhe” on that day.
