Former Cochin Port chairperson Babu Rajeev passes away

Babu Rajeev, former chairperson of the Cochin Port Authority, passed away at 79 at Thevara here on Friday (June 26, 2026) due to age-related ailments. He had headed the port from 1993 to 1999.

He also served as managing director of Cochin International Airport Limited and as Secretary to the Government of India, while also holding additional charge of Director General of the Archaeological Survey of India. He is survived by his wife and two daughters.
