Preparations are under way for the Andhra Pradesh State Scheduled Castes Commission’s visit to Visakhapatnam district on June 27, 2026, and officials have been asked to compile detailed data for the review.

District Collector M. Abhishikth Kishore directed all departments to give detailed information for the meeting, at which the Commission’s Chairman, members and Secretary will assess the working of welfare schemes, statutory safeguards and grievance redressal for Scheduled Castes.

Officials have been asked to submit department-wise and year-wise information for the past five years.

The Collector sought details on the working of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, the Protection of Civil Rights Act, 1955, land-related issues concerning Scheduled Castes, the enforcement of reservation norms and the disposal of petitions received through the Public Grievance Redressal System.

Departments have also been asked to give information on welfare scheme beneficiaries and reports submitted to the Commission. Mr. Kishore directed officials to complete all arrangements for the visit.
