District Collector M. Abhishikth Kishore and Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation Commissioner Ketan Garg briefed the dignitaries on exhibits set up by 13 departments, including industries, tourism, agriculture, fisheries, health, rural development and urban administration. Beneficiaries of welfare and self-employment schemes also interacted with the visiting leaders.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Abhishikth Kishore said Visakhapatnam was emerging as one of the State’s fastest-growing districts and drawing a large share of the investment coming to Andhra Pradesh. He said the State’s share in national investment had risen from 16% in 2024-25 to 25% in 2025-26, and claimed that nearly half the investment coming to Andhra Pradesh was being directed to Visakhapatnam. He said projects worth ₹75,000 crore were expected to generate about 1.5 lakh jobs in the district. The Collector also spoke of welfare measures such as Talliki Vandanam, under which ₹564 crore had been disbursed in the district, and said more than 13,000 MSME approvals had been granted in the past two years.

Beneficiaries also received autos and tractors sanctioned under schemes implemented through the DRDA and the SC Corporation. Representatives of Myra and Cognizant, along with entrepreneurs Swarnalatha and Lalitha, shared their experiences of government support. The dignitaries later felicitated mentors associated with the Bangaru Kutumbam initiative and presented a ₹84.24-crore mega cheque to members of Self-Help Groups.

Several public representatives, including Mr. Sribharat, Mr. Vishnu Kumar Raju, Mr. Palla Srinivasa Rao, Mr. P.V.N. Madhav, Mr. Vamsi Krishna Srinivas, Mr. Ganta Srinivasa Rao, Mr. Ganababu and Mr. Chiranjeevi Rao, spoke of welfare schemes, infrastructure projects, industrial investment and employment initiatives taken up during the coalition government’s two years in office. They referred to the South Coast Railway Zone, the upcoming Bhogapuram airport, urban infrastructure works and efforts to draw investment to Visakhapatnam, and said they were confident the city would emerge as a major economic and industrial hub in the coming years.

Mr. Dola Sree Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy said the government was implementing its election promises in a phased manner, balancing welfare and development. He said Visakhapatnam was being developed as a major economic hub and sought public support for the government’s development agenda.
