One killed, three injured in car-lorry collision

A 29-year-old man from Bengaluru was killed when the car in which he was travelling collided with a mini lorry near Perumpady on the Makkoottam Churam road on Wednesday evening (June 17).

The deceased was identified as Rohit, a resident of SR Nagar, Bengaluru. Three others travelling with him sustained injuries and were admitted to a hospital in Virajpet. The accident occurred about 1 km from the Makkoottam Churam police check post. Rohit and his friends were returning to Bengaluru after visiting the Kottiyoor temple when their car collided with a mini lorry.

Rohit sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. The other occupants of the car, who were injured in the accident, were shifted to a hospital in Virajpet. The body was moved to the mortuary of the Government Hospital, Virajpet. The police have launched an investigation into the accident.
