Tiruvarur Collector shocked to see Class XII girls sitting on floor at government school

Collector V. Mohanchandran during his visit to some of the government schools in Tiruvarur district on Thursday urged the school authorities to ensure proper facilities for children.

According to sources, the Collector was reportedly appalled to see a section of Class XII children sitting on the floor in a classroom at the Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Nannilam.

Subsequently, he enquired with the school authorities the reason for the same and urged them to ensure proper facilities were made available to children without fail. He visited the Government Higher Secondary School, Panangudi.

The Collector issued stern instructions to the school authorities to make sure that the kitchen, rest rooms, and drinking water facilities were properly maintained, sources said.
