The Bengaluru police have imposed prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) within a one-kilometre radius of Vidhana Soudha to ensure law and order, security, and the smooth conduct of the MLC electoral process scheduled on Thursday.

The order was issued on Wednesday by City Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh. According to the order, no processions, rallies, demonstrations, protests, victory celebrations, public meetings, or gatherings will be permitted within the prohibited zone. The assembly of more than four persons has also been banned, except where specifically exempted by the competent authority.

The police have further tightened access to the Vidhana Soudha premises. Entry will be allowed only on the basis of valid passes, and unauthorised persons will not be permitted inside. Access has been restricted to Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs), Members of the Legislative Council (MLCs), Members of Parliament (MPs), and authorised officials and staff working in Vidhana Soudha. Polling and counting agents carrying valid authorisation will also be allowed entry.
