The Indian Institute of Educational Theatre (IIET), in collaboration with HARA–Harvesting the Art, has announced the launch of its weekend theatre classes for children aged 8 and above.

The three-month theatre training programme will commence on the IIET campus on June 20.

The programme is designed to help children develop essential life skills through theatre. Participation in theatre activities fosters empathy, sparks imagination, improves literacy, enhances communication skills, and encourages focus and self-confidence. Through interactive exercises, storytelling, role-play, movement, and performance-based learning, children will be encouraged to explore their creativity in a supportive environment, the organisers said.

Classes will be conducted every weekend, with sessions scheduled from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 12 on Sundays. The course fee is ₹5,000, according to a press release.

The classes will be held at the IIET, Hardwick School Premises, JLB Road, Mysuru. Experienced theatre practitioners and educators will guide participants through a structured curriculum to artistic expression and personal growth, it added.

Parents interested in enrolling their children can contact 96868 92255 for registration.
