The Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) general secretary T.T.V. Dhinakaran, on Saturday (June 13, 2026), appointed former chairperson of the Tambaram local body and secretary of the Chengalpattu (East) district unit M. Karikalan the party’s treasurer.
This followed the defection of the erstwhile treasurer S.K. Selvam, formerly legislator from the Veerapandi Assembly constituency, to the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK).
