Motorist booked after high-speed collision injures several members of a family

A 22-year-old motorist has been booked after a high-speed rear-end collision left several members of a family injured near Lakeshore Mall in Kukatpally during the early hours of Saturday (June 13, 2026).

The accused was identified as Mohammad Abdul Sami. The incident was reported around 3 a.m. when the complainant Chittigoni Srikanth along with his family members and relatives was returning to Hyderabad after visiting a temple in the Tungabhadra region.

They were travelling in a car and passing near the Lakeshore Mall area, when another car rammed into their vehicle from the rear. The impact caused injuries to several occupants of the car.

The injured were shifted to a private hospital in Sanathnagar, where they are undergoing treatment.

Police said the second vehicle, bearing registration number AP 28 AY 3222, was being driven at high speed and in a negligent manner by Abdul Sami when the collision occurred. The Kukatpally police have registered a case and lodged an investigation.
