Similarly, very heavy rain has been forecast for Ernakulam and Thrissur districts on Thursday (June 11, 2026) and isolated heavy rains for Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam, Idukki, Palakkad, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod districts on the day. Isolated heavy rains will continue in parts of the State powered by the cyclonic circulations over the Bay of Bengal.

Further, the coastal areas of Kerala are likely to experience the ‘kallakkadal’ phenomenon – the sudden swell of the seas causing rough waves – from Thursday 8.30 p.m. to Friday 11.30 p.m., according to a bulletin issued by the Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS), the central agency that issues weather warnings for fishermen in the country.

“There is a possibility of rough seas due to high waves of 0.8 to 1.4 metres along the coast of Kerala during this period,” according to INCOIS.
