Two motorists were killed in a road accident after their two-wheeler they were travelling, collided with another two-wheeler on Cheyyar - Vandavasi Main Road at Anthanur village near Chengam town in Tiruvannamalai on Tuesday.

Two motorists were killed in a road accident after a two-wheeler that they were travelling in collided with another two-wheeler on Cheyyar – Vandavasi Main Road at Anthanur village near Chengam town in Tiruvannamalai on Tuesday.

Police said the deceased persons were identified as S. Arun Kumar, 28, and B. Pugazhenthi, 32. Initial inquiry revealed that Arun Kumar, a resident of Cheyyar town, was travelling on his two-wheeler for work on the stretch when he noticed a two-wheeler rider, K. Satish, 22, who suddenly entered the carriageway on the stretch from a narrow lane.

Satish was riding the two-wheeler with his friends Pugazhenthi and G. Raghavan, 25, on the pillion. The trio were going to meet their friends in the neighbouring village. As the two wheelers collided, all four persons were thrown off their vehicles and badly injured. Immediately, other motorists and passersby rescued them and admitted them to the Government Medical College Hospital in Tiruvannamalai town, where doctors declared the duo as brought dead. A case was registered by Mel Chengam police and further probe is under way.
