Raichur district completes 85.70% mapping

Raichur Deputy Commissioner Poovitha S. said that 85.70% of voters in the district have been mapped so far.

Addressing a press conference in Raichur on Friday (June 5), Ms. Poovitha said that the 2002 electoral rolls had been considered as the benchmark and compared with the existing 2025 electoral rolls through a mapping process.

The mapping process is a pre-Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls taken up by the Election Commission of India (ECI).

As many as 17,20,924 voters are eligible according to the 2025 voters list. Of them, 14,74,829 voters have been identified and mapped (85.70%). The rest, 2,46,095 voters, will be verified, as many of them might have died, migrated or been included twice in the list.

“No one will be suddenly dropped from the list. A total of 2,46,095 voters, who remain untraced, will be served notices and verified,” Ms. Poovitha said.

The Deputy Commissioner said that the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will conduct door-to-door visits from June 30 to July 29 and distribute the enumeration forms containing voters’ details in printed format and collect documents with the required information from the voters with self-attestation. After this, BLOs will upload the details in the requisite app.

The draft voters list will be published on August 5, containing the details filled in the enumeration form. Objections from voters, if any, will be accepted between August 5 and September 4, and objections will be disposed of by October 3. The final voters list will be published on October 7, she explained.

Raichur district has 1,853 polling stations, 1,853 polling officers and 185 supervisors. The Assembly Constituency-wise details are as follows: Raichur Rural Assembly Constituency has 275 polling stations 275 polling officers and 24 supervisors; Raichur city has 250 polling stations, 250 polling officers and 24 supervisors; Manvi has 276 polling stations, 276 polling officers and 32 supervisors; Deodurga has 267 polling stations, 267 polling officers and 27 supervisors; Lingsagur has 285 polling stations, 285 polling officers and 28 supervisors; Sindhanur has 269 polling stations, 269 polling officers and 27 supervisors; Maski has 231 polling stations, 231 polling officers and 23 supervisors.
