Kerala CM urges swift payment to farmers for procured paddy

A meeting convened by Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan with various stakeholders here on Tuesday (June 2, 2026) directed government departments and banks concerned to take necessary steps to ensure farmers receive payment for their procured paddy.

The meeting also discussed ways to overcomedelays in the disbursal of money for procured paddy.

A significant proportion of farmers in the State whose paddy was procured in the last season are yet to receive the prices for their paddy.

The meeting, held in the Chief Minister’s chamber in the Assembly, was attended by Agriculture Minister T. Siddique, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Anoop Jacob, Cooperative Minister M. Liju, Chief Secretary A. Jayathilak, department secretaries, bank representatives, and officials.
