Filmmaker P. Suneel Kumar Reddy’s latest film, ‘LGBT – A Legal Battle’, a courtroom drama centred on the lives and struggles of transgenderpersons, is scheduled for a nationwide theatrical release on June 19.

The film highlights issues of equality, dignity and justice through a legal and emotional narrative. The release coincides with the Pride Month.

Launching the film’s teaser, Mr. Reddy said the project was aimed at bringing the realities faced by the transgender community to a wider audience. He expressed confidence that the film would encourage discussion on human rights and social inclusion.

The cast includes L.B. Sriram, Esther Noronha, Raju Kher, Anand Chakrapani and Preeti Nigam. Hima Rathod plays the female lead.

The film also features transgender activists Chandramukhi and Laila, along with gay rights activist Vishnu Teja, in key roles. According to the makers, several transgender performers have been cast in pivotal roles to lend authenticity to the story.

Members of the cast said the film presents a sensitive portrayal of transgender lives and expressed hope that audiences would connect with its message.
