More than 1,000 Agniveers passed out as part of the Agniveer Batch-07 during the Passing Out Parade held at the Srinagesh Barracks in Wellington, Coonoor, on Monday.
In a press release, the Madras Regimental Centre (MRC) said that the parade marked the “completion of rigorous military training undertaken by the recruits who now will join the Indian Army under the Agnipath Scheme.”
The ceremony was reviewed by Brigadier Krishnendu Das, Commandant, MRC, who congratulated the 1,026 new Agniveers on their exemplary performance, discipline and perseverance during the training period.
Mr. Das urged the new recruits to uphold the proud traditions, valour and esprit-de-corps of the Madras Regiment, one of the oldest and most decorated infantry regiments.
“The parade showcased immaculate drill movements, high standards of turnout and the rich martial ethos of the regiment. Families of the Agniveers, senior military officials, and veterans witnessed the event, making it a memorable occasion for the young soldiers who will now proceed to their respective units,” the press release added.
“Training at MRC emphasises on physical fitness, field craft, weapon handling, military values, and mental resilience these qualities reflected in the outstanding performance of Agniveer Batch-07. The Reviewing Officer also highlighted recent operational successes of the Indian Army and encouraged the young Agniveers to remain committed to duty, nation first ethos and professionalism. During the ceremony, outstanding recruits were felicitated for excellence in academics, drill, firing, and overall performance,” the MRC said.
